Homebrew #5 ("Meth Lab in a Bottle") Part 3: Tasting

It's been a while since I updated you on this homebrew. This is a kit using mostly dry malt extract I made with my friend and co-worker Dave. I'm calling it "Dave & Chad'z Meth Lab in a Bottle" because it was made mostly by boiling chemicals, ha ha!

Brewed: August 6, 2012
Secondary: August 16, 2012
Dry Hops: August 18, 2012
Oak Spiral: August 23, 2012
Bottled: August 27, 2012

OG: 1.080
FG: 1.015
ABV: 8.53%

Average fermenting temperature: 75 degrees Fahrenheit

STEEPING GRAINS
1lb Crystal Malt 40L

BOILING FERMENTABLES
7lbs Briess CBW Pilsen Light DME
2lbs Brewers Crystals - 56% Maltose Corn Sugar

BITTERING HOPS
1oz Columbus
1oz Centennial

FLAVOR HOPS
1oz Falconer's Flight

AROMA HOPS
2oz Cascade

DRY HOPS (added August 18, 2012)
1oz Amarillo
1oz Cascade
1oz Centennial

PERIPHERAL DEVICE
1 American Oak Spiral, 8 inch (boiled and added to secondary on August 23, 2012)

WATER
Albany tap water (5 gallons brew; 4 gallons yield)

YEAST
Safale US-05 (2 packets)
