Sanbitter | Chad'z Soda Reviews #17

I've heard a lot of really bad things about Sanbitter (mostly from ) but I've never been able to find it where I live. I was in Brooklyn recently and I actually found an opened 10-pack of this with only 5 bottles left. Since it was cheap I decided to pick it up and take it home to see just what the fuss is about. I was able to convince my friend Chris to help me review it, as I figured two reactions to this thing would be better than one.

So is Sanbitter as nasty as they say, or is it just an acquired taste? Both? Neither? Watch the video and find out.

Samuel Smith's Organic Cider | Chad'z Cider Reviews #3

This is my first-ever imported cider review. Samuel Smith's is one of my all-time favorite breweries, so I'm hoping their skill, creativity and craftsmanship translates from beer to cider. Plus this is my first-ever "organic" cider review - so that's two birds with one stone. So let's review this thing!

2011 vlog #15 | The Vlog Days of Summer

It's been about three weeks since my last regular vlog. In this one I talk about: trying to film two beer reviews in a row of expired beer and how much I hate that; the Capital Region Craft Brewers Festival; my new editing software; possible new guest reviewers; a possible trip to NYC; and some other stuff but I forget what I said. Just watch!

"Imperial Mild" by Daniel Harper | Chad'z Homebrew Reviews #16

Dan "The Endosybiosis" Harper joins me via Skype to "review" his homebrew - an imperial mild. He explains the concept behind this seemingly contradictorary beer in the video. I'll put all the specs on the homebrew below as soon as he sends it to me.

This is the first time I've ever Skype reviewed a homebrew and only the second times I've "reviewed" a homebrew with the homebrewer.

Be sure to check out Dan's channel here:

The recipe:
12lbs American 2-row
1lb Crystal 60
1lb American Wheat
2lbs Caramel
1oz Simcoe 60min
1oz Fuggles 60min
1oz Kent Goldings 30 min
1oz Kent Goldings 15 min
White Labs Burton Ale Yeast (WLP023)

Woodchuck Summer Hard Cider | Chad'z Cider Reviews #2

I'm bringing back the cider reviews! It's been four months since the first one, but we're going back to the well with Woodchuck's "Summer" Hard Cider. Again, I remind you I'm not a cider expert or connoisseur at all - I'm just going by what I like (then again that's how I judge beer, too).

Here's the official cidery's description:
Hand-crafted using century old farmhouse cider techniques, Woodchuck Summer Cider exhibits a slight tartness and begins with a full, robust flavor, followed by the rich, reminiscent taste of New England blueberries. In addition to pairing with favorites such as cheese, Woodchuck Summer Cider is a treat paired with cheesecake, fruits, and even chocolate.

Zumbody Orange Mango | Chad'z Soda Reviews #16

Welcome to the first episode of "Chad'z Soda Reviews" in FOUR MONTHS! You might be new here and it's a loooooooooooong story as to why you might've just seen a soda review posted the other day (Mug Root Beer), but it was shot in March. Watch my FAQ and vlogs to get caught up if you're confused.

Anyway, this is fairly local soda to me - made in Syracuse, NY. Zumbody is one of these new weight loss/energy drink/diet supplements kind of like "Celsius" that claims you can actually burn fat and calories by drinking it. It's got hardly any calories and no sugar - but that's because it's made with sucralose (aka Splenda). I always raise an eyebrow at drinks that make these claims, but I'm just here for the taste anyway so let's see if I can review a soda after a four-month hiatus.

Check out Zumbody's website here:

Chad Tries.... Meatball Marinara MRE (complete package)

Welcome to the first episode of "Chad Tries...." a show wherein I'll be eating and reviewing strange, unusual, rare, weird, funny food (relative to me, that is). The inspiration for this show came from my two favorite internet shows about "reviewing" wacky food: WrecklessEating and Brad Jones aka "The Cinema Snob" who also does an occasional series called "Brad Tries..."

Unlike those shows I'm not going to be arbitrarily eating disgusting food just so that I vomit on camera for comedy. I want to focus on fairly mainstream stuff. I'll probably only be posting new episodes of this show once or twice a month at most.

Anyway, on the first episode we're taking a look at a complete package of OFFICIAL gummint-issued MRE (meals ready-to-eat). Other people have reviewed just the entrees, but I don't think anyone has shown and reviewed all the other stuff that comes in the pack (each pack is different anyway). I was in the military for 10 years and I rarely had to eat these things. Some were good, some were nasty. A friend of mine who's still in the reserves gave this to me as a joke, so I thought it would make a good first episode of "Chad Tries...."

2011 vlog #14 | I got a job! (also: where's my beer, Dan?)

It's been over two weeks since I last vlogged. Back then I mentioned how I was looking for a job, well I finally got one! I tell you a little about it in the vlog, but I don't want to give away too many details.
Other topics covered in this vlog:
*I graduate school in September (and it can't come soon enough)
*I will be posting some new flavored water and soda reviews soon.
*I won't be making any video game or comic reviews any time soon.
*I'm still waiting for Dan to post his unboxing video AND send me some beer.
*I'm going to try and streamline the beer reviews even more.
*The beer vloggers conference is still a go - I just need to know who's in and who's out.
