How To Assemble DrawerBox™ Storage System comic book boxes (drawer boxes)

I'm a HUGE fan of comic book drawer boxes rather than traditional, standalone, long boxes placed on tables. I just received a shipment of five new boxes and I thought I would take the opportunity to make a quick "how-to" video showing how easy they are to put together (well, actually putting those box lox anchors together can be a major pain but whatever). And no, the company that makes these didn't pay me to make this video, but you can check them out at

Imasofat Jager Warmer | Chad'z Homebrew Reviews #14

This winter warmer was brewed by everyone's favorite husband & wife beer-reviewing duo on BeerTube, the Imasofats! Gary personally dropped off this bottle at my house. It's a winter warmer they brewed around Thanksgiving of last year. I loved the double IPA they made last year, but haven't had anything from them since then. Here's the description of the beer according to Gary:

"Hey Chadz.  I don't have all of the stats on the home brew any longer because I threw everything out.  I went back and looked at the video where I talked about what went into the brew.  The link is below....

The kit came from Brewers Best and the name of the kit was "Holiday Ale".  It was meant for Christmas time I suppose. The final ABV that I measured was 6.2%. Spices from the spice pack were Orange Peel, Cinnamon, Cardamom Seed, and Ginger Root. We titled the brew "Jager Warmer" because at the first tasting it reminded us of Jagermeister.  I don't know why, maybe the Ginger Root? Hope this helps.  Cheers!"

2011 vlog #9 | channel updates + surprise beer mail + what's in (and on) my fridge

I wasn't planning on making a vlog, but I got a surprise beer mail delivered to me this morning, and I thought since I had the opportunity, why not make a "quick" vlog updating you on what's going on with BOTH of my channels. Plus you get to see some sweet Belgian beers graciously donated to the show by Bart in Belgium (thanks for the beer!). You also get to see what's in my fridge RIGHT NOW!

I'm going to film a review of a Founders beer today or tonight, but probably won't upload it until tomorrow sometime. Founders "week" is going to be about 10 days long!

Albany Comic Con (Spring 2011)

While it may not be as big or prestigious as the New York or San Diego conventions, we do have a semi-annual comic book convention right here in Albany. The current generation of cons have been on-going since 2008 and each show is bigger and better than the previous one. This convention was by FAR the biggest in terms of dealers, artists and attendees. It's really exciting to see so many show so much enthusiasm for a market that is generally considered for nerdy white guys.

I did manage to pick up a good amount of comics to add to my collection as you'll see. In fact, I'll have to shoot another video showing off my entire comic book collection soon as the one I have is over 2 years old!

Thanks to everyone that came out. And I'll see you at the next Albany Comic Con on October 23, 2011!

Hangin' with DenisLD (2011)

This is the second year in a row Denis of has stopped in Albany on his way to visit family in New York City. He only had about a 5-hour window to hang out, but we managed to get in quite a bit of beer drinking (and buying). We went to Albany Pump Station, Westmere Beverage Brew Crew AND Mahar's!

Be sure to check out Denis's channel for "DM's Montreal Beer Reviews".

BrewAthlon Indian Ladder Hard Cider | Chad'z Homebrew Reviews #13

I've reviewed 12 homebrew beers, but I've never reviewed (let alone drank) a homebrew cider until now. This hard cider was made by my friend Chad aka "BrewAthlon" last fall (brewed on my birthday, in fact!). Please take this review with a huge grain of salt because my experience with ciders is quite limited and I've NEVER tried a homebrewed cider before so I have no real frame of reference - I'm going entirely by how much I liked it with this one.

Marley's Mellow Mood (Black Tea Peach Raspberry Passion Fruit) | Chad'z MISC Soft Drink Reviews #19

This will be the third Marley's Mellow Mood product I've reviewed (and 3 of the last 4 episodes of this series). I wasn't too crazy about the first two, but they say the third time is the charm, right? The overly-long name cracks me up, though.

Hangin' with Hagan Blount + huge NYC beer haul!

Yesterday I went down to Manhattan to hang out with Hagan Blount of and to shoot FOURTEEN episodes of his beer-tasting show at a local craft beer store to him "Good Beer NYC". Hagan's show is NOT a beer-review show like mine or other such BeerTube shows. He's paid by breweries to produce promotional videos for their beers. Hagan likes to bring in guests to get a second perspective on the objective, descriptive qualities of the beer. However, at no point are subjective descriptions or opinions used in the video. I've been talking with Hagan for quite a while online and he's always seemed like a cool guy. When he asked if I wanted to be a guest on his show I thought it would be a fun experience (and it was!). I did get to taste many new beers - several of which I can't get here in Albany.

While I was in NYC I decided to pick up as much craft beer as I could get that isn't available where I live. The second half of the video shows off the huge haul of stuff I bought as well as the many beers graciously donated to my show by Hagan - thanks, man!

Arizona Fruit Punch | Chad'z MISC Soft Drink Reviews #18

Seems like it's been a while since a reviewed either a fruit punch or something from the Arizona brand - so we get to kill two birds with one stone in this review! Arizona is known for their inexpensive 24oz cans of soft drinks, but they're also known for being "cheap". Some of their stuff is really good, but some of their stuff is just okay - what way would their Fruit Punch go?

Brewathlon Minty Moose Stout | Chad'z Homebrew Reviews #11

I've had many flavored stouts before (i.e. coffee, chocolate, etc.) but I've never had a MINT stout! Well, my friend Chad aka "BrewAthlon" brewed up a batch of "Minty Moose Stout" based on a Randy Mosher recipe. Unfortunately, he over-primed the bottles and I had to open this in the sink before I even started reviewing. About half the beer was lost to foam, but I managed to save at least half of it to get a good review out of it.

2011 vlog #8 | I made partner on my second channel! BUT NOW WHAT?

My second channel is now a partner channel with YouTube. However, that's not the reason I'm making this vlog - I'm wondering what's going to happen now. I've been working towards making partner on the second channel for nine months now and it's actually kind of weird that it finally happened. I've mentioned many times that I'd like to move ALL my beer reviews to the ChadzBeerReviews channel since it makes so much more sense considering the name, but it's that easy. This entire vlog is me explaining why. Any advice or comments you may have - by all means let it be known in the comments section.
