5 Hour Energy (Grape) | Chad'z Energy Drink Reviews #29

Ok, this is the last time I'm reviewing a 5-Hour Energy product. I don't even know why I reviewed them in the first place - these are more like liquid supplements than they are drinks. But anyway, this is the grape flavor regular-strength version. I've never really reviewed anything grape-flavored on any of my shows before, so let's see what this one is all about.

Pac-Man Bonus Fruit Energy Drink | Chad'z Energy Drink Reviews #28

Seems like it's been a while since I did a REAL energy drink review, although I'm not sure if a Pac-Man energy drink counts as a "real" energy drink, though. LOL. This thing was produced by the Boston America Corp. - a company that makes novelty and gag food products for Spencer's and other hipster-type stores. Based on the name and packaging, I had high hopes for this energy drink.

Brewathlon "Biere de Festivus" | Chad'z Homebrew Reviews #10

If you remember WAY back in September of 2010 I posted a video of my friend Chad homebrewing a winter warmer. Well, THIS is that beer! I gave this beer a little special treatment as I filmed this review with my real camera and gave you some close-up shots of the label.

I'm usually a fan of winter warmers but I've never had a homebrew winter warmer until now, so let's see how this beer that I "helped" brew turned out.

Marley's Mellow Mood (Green Tea with Honey) | Chad'z MISC Soft Drink Reviews #17

For the first time ever I'm reviewing a product that was sent to me from the business itself (aside from beer, of course)! I received two bottles of Marley's Mellow Mood - a green tea and black tea - from Nick at Blue Wolf Communications - the PR firm handling promotion of this product. I already reviewed the Berry flavor, which was carbonated and I didn't really like that much. This version is uncarbonated and comes in a glass bottle which makes me think it's meant to be something along the lines of a Snapple - is it? Let's find out....

Mug Root Beer | Chad'z Soda Reviews #15

It's been a while since I did a soda review and even longer since I did a root beer review. I got pizza for dinner last night and it came with a 2-liter of Mug Root Beer, so I decided to review it this afternoon. This soda originated in San Francisco in the 1950s but has since been bought out by Pepsi. How does it compare to other root beers?

P.S. no, I didn't realize I had worn the same shirt in two episode of Chad's Soda Reviews in a row until just now. LOL

2011 vlog #7 | I'm Sick

I think the title pretty much says it all. Just want to let everyone know what I've been up to the last week and what WON'T be happening any time soon on this channel. Thanks for watching!

Woodchuck Amber Hard Cider | Chad'z Cider Reviews #1

And so we begin the daunting task of moving all the non-beer reviews from to this channel, which henceforth will be called "Chad'z Channel of FUN!"

This is the first and so far only commercial cider I've ever reviewed (I have reviewed a homebrewed cider, but that' on the other channel under the homebrew playlist). Bear in mind that when it comes to Cider I'm pretty much a babe in the woods. My experience with ciders is rather limited and I don't know what to look for as far as what I would consider "quality." And while I do rate beers on how much I like them, there's also a subjective, personal measure of "quality" I find in the beer that contributes to my rating. But with ciders, at least for now, I'm grading strictly on how much I like them. Enjoy!

How To Pour A Beer (extended discussion for beer nerds)

This video is specifically intended for beer enthusiasts and not Joe and Jane Six Pack. This isn't just a tutorial on how to pour beer, it's an experiment of sorts as we compare four different pour methods of the same beer in the same glass. Two of these methods are in direct contradiction with each other which is quite ironic considering those methods are advocated by two of the biggest beer authors - Randy Mosher and Michael Jackson (R.I.P.).

So which IS the "best" or "correct" way to pour a beer? Does it vary by style? Can you actually taste a difference? What method do you use? Don't just leave a comment, please post a video response on what you think is the best method to pour a beer.

SoBe Lifewater Strawberry Kiwi Lemonade | Chad'z Flavored Water Reviews #9

Those guys at SoBe will throw pretty much anything into their Lifewater drinks, eh? Kiwi Strawberry drinks have been pretty popular for a while now, but SoBe puts a slightly new twist on it by adding lemonade! What's strange is the ingredients list contains exactly zero references to lemons, kiwi, or strawberry and only has "lemon juice concentrate" as the only truly natural flavor. This product contains no calories and no sugar, but no aspartame, either. It's those OTHER synthetic ingredients that really worry me, though! I suppose drinking one bottle every two weeks won't kill me.... right?

How To Pour A Beer

A lot of people really do not know how to pour a beer. I find most people pour entirely too gently or conservatively. In this video I'm going to show you a good method to use to generate a bigger head on your beer and knock out a lot of carbonation without the beer foaming over.

NOTE: This is NOT intended to be any kind of absolute "one size fits all" method for beer-pouring, but rather a general "rule of thumb." Different beers would be poured different ways based on their volatility. For example, you wouldn't pour a hefeweizen or a Belgian blonde the same way you'd pour an imperial stout or a barleywine. And even pouring those beers would vary based on the glassware into which they are poured.

Be sure to check out the "Extended Beer Nerd Discussion Version" of this video in which we compare different pouring methods as recommended by professional beer journalists.

Marley's Mellow Mood (Berry) | Chad'z MISC Soft Drink Reviews #16

Ok, this is a beverage I KNOW has already been reviewed by and/or - which is what made me want to review it. Thankfully, this can cost me nothing as my beer store was giving away free samples of it.

Marley's Mellow Mood is the opposite of an energy drink as it's actually supposed to relax you and chill you out. What's odd is that the can actually has a warning that you shouldn't drink more than 2 cans a day (energy drinks have the same warning). It's also carbonated and has lots of sugar in it. What could this drink possibly be like?

2011 vlog #6 | What the hell, spring?!

It's been a while since I made a real vlog, so in this one I express derision that spring STILL isn't here yet; let you know why you haven't seen Henry in a while; show off a design I came up with for the hopefully forthcoming Chad'z Beer Reviews logo; give a shoutout to Hagan Blount; plug my facebook, twitter, untappd and foursquare pages; and let you know about two upcoming beer-related videos.

Vitamin Water XXX (Acai, Blueberry and Pomegranate) | Chad'z Flavored Water Reviews #8

Seems like I've been on a berry kick lately. This will be the second straight berry flavored water review and the FOURTH straight review overall with a berry flavor (not counting the beer reviews, of course).

Why Vitamin Water dubbed this product XXX I'll never know. It has nothing to do with porn or alcohol, that's for sure. This is a pretty short video because I basically repeated everything I said about the last SoBe review. Enjoy!

5 Hour Energy Extra Strength (berry flavor) | Chad'z Energy Drink Reviews #27

It's been over five months since I last reviewed a 5-Hour Energy product, so this time I thought I'd step it up to the EXTRA STRENGTH version (and the berry flavor at that). I shot the first half of the review around 8am right before I had to go to class and shot the second half around 5pm after I got home (I had a bunch of errands to run after class). Does 5-Hour Energy perform as advertised? And what exactly does it do? How's it taste? These questions are answered in this review.
