Beer Nerd Empire

It's Halloween, so I decided to go as Chris from NOTE: This is a spoof/satire/parody! If you don't get the joke, you'd better watch Chris's videos. Also, this is not meant to be a serious review of Southern Tier Pumking, although I would say it's an outstanding beer! I've drank 4 or 5 bombers this year and it's as good as it's ever been.

Rockstar Juiced Energy Drink | Chad'z Energy Drink Reviews #12

I bought this because the "juiced" name caught my eye and it's advertised as being made with orange, mango and passion fruit juice - could this be a NOS clone? (or soI bought this because the "juiced" name caught my eye and it's advertised as being made with orange, mango and passion fruit juice - could this be a NOS clone? (or something comparable to it?)

NOTE: In retrospect I rated this thing too high, please subtract 3 points from my rating.

2010 vlog #26 | normal vlog + 2010 Brew & Boo Beer Fest

In this vlog I tell you about the "Brew & Boo" beer fest I went to today and how lame it was (there's a little footage of it as well). Plus I geek out over comics for a little bit; tell you about an upcoming possible Jay appearance; represent for; show off my new webcam and new carpeting and of course take a quick tour of the fridge.

Amp Energy Lightning | Chad'z Energy Drink Reviews #11

In my quest to find an energy drink comparable to NOS I picked up Amp Energy Lightning which is promoted as having a lemonade-like flavor. I tend to like citrusy drinks so how would this energy drink fare?

Chad'z Top 20 Favorite Video Games

If you've seen my apartment you've probably seen my huge collection of vintage video games. I don't talk about them that much on my shows but I really love old school 8-bit and 16-bit games. I made this video damn near two years ago, but unless you've been a subscriber since the early days, you've probably never seen it. Bear in mind these are my PERSONAL FAVORITES, and this is NOT intended to be the "best games ever made" or something like that. I mostly made it for my own entertainment, but I hope you'll get a kick out of it as well.

Mountain Dew White Out | Chad'z Soda Reviews #5

This review is dedicated to Brad Jones, AKA "The Cinema Snob" here on Youtube at and on Brad reviewed this soda back in May and wasn't too thrilled with it. I'm actually quite surprised it's still around five months later.

Brad makes funny videos along the lines of the Nostalgia Critic where he takes an old bad movie and "reviews" it (by mocking it to death the entire time and hilarity ensues). He's also been reviewing bad or just plain weird sodas and beers lately. But most of them are on and embedded on his website, otherwise I would post this a direct video response to his review.

Watch his review of this soda here:

Schweppes Ginger Ale | Chad'z Soda Reviews #4

My first remotely mainstream soda review - but then again ginger ale isn't all that mainstream compared to cola (which is coming soon, BTW). I bought a six-pack of these stubby little 8oz cans for a little get-together over the weekend and had one left so I thought I would review it.

2010 vlog #25 | stuff

Seems like every vlog for the last few months has been subtitled "updates and announcements" (and variations thereof). But the whole POINT of a vlog is to make announcements and list updates - so I've been stating the obvious all along! So from now on these vlogs are going to have very plain-sounding names (unless they're about something really significant). Anyways, in this vlog I talk about: Beer Connoisseur magazine; Mark's beer and fitness book; an upcoming beer fest; tutorial #5 (or lack thereof); director's commentary video[s]; ask for advice on waxing beer caps; my best and worst of 2010 lists so far this year; and give you a shot of what's in the fridge.

BrewAthlon Watermelon Wheat Ale | Chad'z Homebrew Reviews #5

This homebrew was inspired by 21st Amendment's "Hell or High Watermelon" wheat beer. My friend Chad used a real watermelon in the secondary! I don't have any of the other details about the recipe, though.

Photo Album

This was my second time adding fruit to the beer during the secondary fermentation.  My inspiration for this one came from both the Amer. Craft Brewing Scene and from my friend Craig who got me hooked on homebrewing.  The craft brewing influences Hooker Brewery's Watermelon Ale and 21st Amendments Hell or High Watermelon Wheat both which used the artificial watermelon flavoring which in my opinion can be at times to sweet for me.  My friend Craig had previously done a Watermelon of his own and used sugar to sweeten it.  My goal was to try and only use the watermelon in hopes the natural flavor came through without sweetening it.

I was pleasantly surprised with how well this batch turned out.  Unlike the my Raspberry Ale where all the color was drawn out of the berries when I went to bottle it the watermelon pieces retained their color and tasted almost normal yet imparted a nice finish to the beer.  Almost 1 year later the taste still holds up and makes a nice refreshing drink.

Starbucks Doubleshot Energy + Coffee | Chad'z Energy Drink Reviews #10

I'm a coffee drinker and I do like both hot and cold coffee. I stumbled upon this Starbucks energy-like drink at WalMart and decided to pick it up. I purposely drank it first thing in the morning instead of my usual cup of Joe. I was a little stuffed up at the time (it sounds much worse on film than it was in reality).

Smirnoff Ice | Chad'z Alcopop Reviews #3

Smirnoff Ice is the drink that pretty much single-handedly launched the "malternative" revolution of the late 90s. Well, Zima (which was made by Coors) technically beat them to it, but Smirnoff Ice was the first alcopop to be trendy and socially acceptable whereas Zima was a joke. When most people think of "alcopops" today, this is what they think of.

NOTE: I DO NOT compare alcopops relative to beer! I only compare them to other alcopops!

Full Throttle Blue Agave | Chad'z Energy Drink Reviews #9

Full Throttle is another brand of energy drink made by Coca-Cola. The black can is probably considered the original flavor, but I opted for the Blue Agave flavor - mostly because the beautiful can caught my eye. I reviewed this out of a wine glass just for the hell of it.

Chad'z collection of beer bottle caps, coasters, business cards and bottle openers

It's been a while since I did a collection video so I thought it was about time for another one. This time I show off my collection of beer bottle caps, coasters, business cards and bottle openers (not in that order, though). I don't think there's anything particularly special in these collections, but maybe you'll find something that draws your eye. Let me know.

2010 vlog #24 | why YouTube pisses me off + updates

Pretty much another generic vlog of updates and what's upcoming. I talk about why YouTube has been pissing me off lately. Also, I comment on the Southern Tier Pumking controversy (or lack thereof). "Homebrewing a winter warmer with BrewAthlon" "Bud Light & Clamato Chelada"

Nitrous Monster "Killer B" | Chad'z Energy Drink Reviews #8

I picked this up because the "nitrous" name caught my attention and I figured it was Monster's attempt to mimic NOS (my favorite energy drink). I guess the "Killer B" name refers to the fact that it contains a ton of B vitamins. Why this can was $3 when most are $2 I don't understand.
